Updated:FCKEditor for wordpress version 2.2

Dean’s FCKEditor for wordpress has been upgraded to version 2.2.

this version upgrade FCKEditor to the newest version 2.4.3,with the following new features and fixes:

  • The new "Enable Firefox Spell Checker" setting is available, to enable/disable the Firefox built-in spellchecker while typing. Even if word suggestions will not appear in the FCKeditor context menu, this feature is useful to quickly identify misspelled words.
  • It is now possible to set the default target when creating links, with the new "Default Link Target" setting.
  • Remove the "FCKEditor" option tab from the write admin panel.this can prevent lower-level users to change the settings, thanks to Jeremiah Britt for the advice.
  • Fixed the problem that upload will be failed if there are no such path.

I have 2.3 plugin but cannot remove the FCKEditor from the Write menu. How can I do this?

When I copy the file to my plugin directory in WordPress 2.2, it does not show up as a plugin. Is anyone else having this problem?

Better update to 2.2.1.. everything below 2.2.1 is dangerous.. With that sql injection.. they even got it managed to put a phishing site on a friends server. I think they should leave Open Source. Take the companies.. not normal bloggers.. Security is first.. I know. But let people just blog.

Hi Dean!

Thanks for your last update, but I found a trouble using it…

You’ve changed the directory “Image” to “image”, and this is a problem, cause I got all my old images on the “Image” folder, and this change made me loss all them when I push the View Server button. I’ve tried to change the folder name, but it’s worst cause then all my post images went out… so I’ve to change all my entries (round 100) to change every img code (one by one…). And also I’ve thinked about copying all my folder to another folder with the name “Image” instead of “image”, but this will cause to my host to loose space…

So the question is…

Will you make another fix for that problem, or can you make a version with “Image” folder name instead of “image” for those users that uses the older version and updates?

Thanks anyway for the new update, It still being the best editor for WordPress.
