I have deleted the post about binaryfortess.com

I got some emails, questioned about the post written on may 20th,2007 :’ shame on the developers that steal my code’.thanks for your concern and I think it would be better to write something about it here.

This is what I wrote in that post:

…It’s a shame they goes against the open source spirit,my works get stolen and someone else puts their own name on it,when they haven’t put their soul into it like what i did…

I have received a mail from binaryfortress.com:

…I have to say I am very surprised.  I tried out your filter when I was setting up WordPress on IIS and I loved it, but it had a few limits and a few bugs in it, so I decided to write my own.  I’m not sure why you think I stole your code, but I am very interested to hear…

this is what I replied:

…your isapi filter is more configurable than what I did.but I think it would be better if you can link back to the orginal author’s website even if you rewrite it . we love wordpress, it’s only important how can we improve it, that’s the reason why I distribute it in open source so that we can share our knowledge to make it better, but you closed it after you finished.I don’t think this is a good idea…

forget about that post,I have deleted it.just like what I said in the mail:it’s only important how can we improve it.sorry to jon Tackabury if I misunderstand his work. and just like what he said,I should approached him first before post.

Thanks for emailing me so we could get this cleared up. I have posted a link from my filter’s page at http://www.binaryfortress.com/wordpress-url-rewrite/ to your site to show my appreciation for your filter. I used your filter for many months before writing my own, so I definitely owe the inspiration and idea to you. Keep up the great work, it looks like you’ve got some great plug-ins going (especially the source code syntax highlighter).

Thanks!
Jon
